Jobs Feed

If you have a webpage with published ads, you can include them in Wiju! It is very simple:

  1. Create an XML file following the format guidelines specified below.
  2. Send us the URL where your feed is located (For example: http://www.yourdomain.com/wiju_feed.xml) using our contact form.

From that moment, we will periodically read your feed to insert new ads, make the appropiate changes and expire the ads that are no longer present in your feed.

Your ads will be included in Wiju's search results as soon as possible.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact us.

XML Feed Format

These are the instructions for creating an XML feed to include your ads in Wiju. If you find it convenient, you can use our XSD Schema that describes the structure of the feed. If you need more information on the XML format we recommend that you consult Wikipedia.

The file must be encoded in UTF-8

The XML file will have a main <wiju> tag that will collect a set of ads represented by the <ad></ad> tags. Each <ad></ad> block contains required and optional fields:

REQUIRED FIELDS

The required fields are the set of XML tags that provide the minimum amount of information necessary for our systems to include your ads in Wiju.

  • id: id: ID of the ad on your page (can be numeric or alphanumeric, but must be unique, because we use the ID to avoid duplicate ads.)
  • url: URL of the ad on your website.
  • title: Title of the ad.
  • content: Description of the ad (minimum 30 characters). Remember that the better the description, the bigger your audience will be!
  • type: Type of ad. The content of this field must be one of the following: Job Offer, Find Jobs.

OPTIONAL FIELDS

Optional fields should not be added if they have no content. But if you have these fields on your website, please include them in your feed. Wiju's ordering algorithm prioritizes quality, so the more complete the ad is, the better its position will be!

  • salary: Literal information about the salary. Comments and salary ranges can be included.

    When the salary is specified in a currency other than the country's official currency, you must use the 'currency' attribute. The values are determined by the ISO-4217 specification. Thus, Wiju will convert the value to official currency.

    <salary currency="USD">...</salary>

    This would specify the salary of a job in dollars. Do not include currency symbol next to the salary. See technical specifications for details.

  • city: City where the job is offered / wanted.
  • region: Region / State where the job is offered / wanted.
  • postcode: Zip Code.
  • latitude: Latitude where the job is offered / wanted. Refer to technical specifications for details.
  • length: Length where the job is offered / wanted. Refer to technical specifications for details.
  • pictures: This tag includes the different images of the job.

    The field that defines a particular image is <picture>:

    • picture: This tag includes the fields for the URL and the title of the image (the title is optional).

      The fields that must be defined within the <picture> element are:

      • picture_url: URL where the picture is located.
      • picture_title: Title of the picture.
    <pictures>
        <picture>
            <picture_url>...</picture_url>
            <picture_title>.../picture_title>
        </picture>

        <picture>
            <picture_url>...</picture_url>
            <picture_title>.../picture_title>
        </picture>
            ...
    </pictures>

    The image shown in Wiju for a specific ad will be the first of the set of images.
    You should choose the most relevant image as the first one because it will have great influence on user clicks.

    Wiju does not allow the inclusion of corporate pictures with the "Picture not available" message.
    If this is detected, Wiju reserves the right to block your ads.

    Once your ads are inserted in Wiju, the images associated with them cannot be modified even in the next reading of your feed.
    Make sure the new ads you add to your feed have the correct images.

  • date: Date the ad was posted. The correct format is DD/MM/YYYY.
  • time: Time the ad was posted. The correct formats are HH:MM or HH:MM:SS.
  • expiration_date: Date the ad will expire. The correct format is DD/MM/YYYY.

The XML feed will look like this:

<wiju>
	<ad>

...

...

...

...

        <type>...</type>

        <salary>...</salary>
